Infidu vs sob

With the CG sob hitting the store which knife do you think is the better "one knife for the woods" knife.
The sob or the infi ratmandu

I never liked the SOB, blasphemy, I know....not sure why, I prefer other variations of the Badger line with the BATAC being my favorite. I would way rather have a RMD in the woods or anywhere else for that matter.

Have a SR101 RMD on order, trying to make an SOB happen too, so wait about 3 months and I will let you know :)

I like the longer reach of the RMD. And I, for one, am just as happy with SR101 as I am with INFI in knives with 6" blades or less. So any RMD for me as well.

I personally prefer the Infidu over the SOB (I have multiples of both though). With a few exceptions I like my blades under 6" to not be coated, so for me INFI is still better for those sized blades than SR101 because of the rust resistance of INFI.

I have them both and I will take the SOB all day everyday, it really is a personal choice, I just never caught on with the Ratmandu, Infidu, Swatmandu etc. I think Busse has sold more of the Ratmandu's and variations than any other model, Just not my cup of Tea!!!

I can't get along with the handle on the SOB. Too much belly/swell.

The RMD handle is one of the best of the kin.

SOB palm swell is a bit golf-ballish....

I MUCH prefer the finger - grooved SOB variant with a more pointed tip...

Still... I'm gonna buy a Black paper base model, etch it & then strip it bare till it's dimples show...:D:o

IMHO, that brick pattern is quite handsome especially when it is one unbroken color and sharply rendered with well defined lines in the paper micarta...good stuff! Thanks Jerry!

I am going to strip as well. I have never handled the SOB but I wanted a 4" blade I could not snatch I could not snatch the SAR4 so this will do for now. The price is great.

For cutting or carving the sob will need a regrind, the ratmandu has a better factory edge

RMD was a disappointment for me. I so looked forward to getting one after reading all the glowing endorsement. The grip to me was almost tiny. I do not have a SOB yet but I will. Good luck with your decision.

Bad timing for me on the SOB - I've already spent too much on knives in the last couple months. I've got to sit this one out (at least until I sell some stuff).
On the positive side, I dislike the brick pattern & I've got a number of knives that dance around this size; so I won't cry too hard if I miss this one...I do hope this stays available for a reasonable time, though.

Was wanting the SOB so bad, then the Trash 1 hit the Yard, sooooo, now waiting on a TGLB that will be here Tuesday, an RMD, and now a Trash1...Hopefully they will still have the SOB on the 25th.

I did not enjoy the handle on the SOB I got to hold a standard, and with finger groves. I am yet to get my hands on a RMD I think I am just going have to take the plunge and get an INFIDU. What the hell least I can do is hate it, and resell it.

The Du line has a thin grip. But I hate palm-swells. Not handling the SOB, I'd guess I'd still stick with the INFIDU.

And in stick, I mean the one that I scored back when will be going to Lackland AFB some time next month for delivery to a new Airman. Unless he chooses the satin SJ. LOL

I have not handled the SOB but do have a few SHBA's upon which it is based and hands down prefer the DU. YMMV
