I found a Sevylor Tahiti kayak for a great price. I have no place to store a hard side boat , just looking for something I can just throw in the car and go. Small lake's occasional small river's. Probably will be used a few weeks on and off in the summer. Read the reviews online a mixed bag some hate some love. Would I just be throwing my cash away ? Or is this a decent boat ? Should I be looking elsewhere. Thanks in advance.

A folding kayak is going to cost a lot more than I have to spend and as much as I plan on using it don't think it will be worth the price.

All I know about those is the good ones have multiple air chambers and the bottoms are a different, tougher material than the air chambers.I believe Sevylor is one of the more reputable brands.--KV

Sevylor are coasting on a reputation they made in the 60s, but all they make now are pool toys. That is not a good boat.

You can get a really good inflatable in the $800-1200 range; if you want something more casual, but still well made, IMO there is no better value than the Sea Eagle 370. Around $300, includes paddles, pump, seat. Holds two adults comfortable, stable, rugged enough to survive bumps and scrapes, tracks decently. I've had one for two years and have taken it out dozens of times without issue.

Check out NRS, they are a little pricey, but well worth the money. I would suggest saving a little more money and getting a good quality boat that will last you years, instead of dropping a chunk on something that will only give you grief. Happy paddling!

This is pretty much what I thought I will check out the Sea Eagle.
