They seem to be somewhat overlooked. I really like the new 3.4" blade HK Axis with G-10 scales. I like the smaller one too. The linerlock is also appealing because of price, though the blade shape is a little odd to me. Just looking for some user feedback. My TSEK is beginning to wear holes in my pants at the point of the handle, and its just a little big to wear to work, as it keeps poking me in the leg when I sit down or climb and such. I had an Ares that was about the perfect size, but gave it to my brother, then they were discontinued. The 3.4" blade HK seems a reasonable replacement.

I recently purchased after considerable research and comparison the 14200. Couldn't be more pleased. I compared it to a Microtech MTX2 at three times the price and was quite surprised to see that the Benchmade was the better knife in my opinion. The Axis lock is excellent to the point that I don't think I would be satisfied with anything else....I have no doubt that you would be thrilled with the 14200 (and probably the new 14205 as well)...

Somehow, the bolsters dont really appeal to me. The blade shape is nice, but I think you're right about the 14205. I also like to 14210. The 3.4" blade would be nice for just a few more dollars, but a 3" blade seems adequate and shouldnt pose any carry problems, like the TSEK.

I have the 14210 and posted my impressions somewhere here about 2 weeks back.. you might try searching for it...

In short... DAMN good EDC.. highly recommended!!!

I like the 14210 (unless I've got the numbers wrong) because it's thinner and, like someone else said, I don;t really like those bolsters. The H&K knives that I've seen have been exquisite... truly outstanding.

In another thread, someone said he thought the fit/finish wasn't quite as nice as a blue or black class. The ones he'd seen were not quite up to par. That went against everything I'd heard, read, and felt about the H&K line. He wasn't trashing the H&Ks, just mentioning that the ones he'd seen weren't quite up to snuff. So his review was the very first I ever heard bad.

There's also an issue as to where they're made if that's important to you (it is to me). I had always understood the H&K line to be made here in U.S., but someone mentioned they read that at least some were made foreign. I sent an email to BM quite a while back asking them to clarify, but I never heard back.

I would buy a BM-H&K in a heartbeat with no hestitation.... especially the two Snody fixed blades 14100 and 14150.

I have the BM/HK 14200 and its marked USA. Reminds me of a heavy little folding dagger. Its as well made as any BM in the blue class.

The 14200 series is one of the best knife series and values on the market. Plenty of threads on this topic.
Do a couple of searches and you'll find lot's of good info. Put that "engineer" to use ..... research ...
Take Care..

They seem to be coming up with some cool designs. Thinking of getting the Ally when it comes out.

BM just came out with a new 14205 that is basically the same knife as the 14200 only bolsterless. These are all very nice well built knives. I've never seen a bad one. HK demands a certain consistancy in what they will accept from what I've read and BM delivers with these knives. I think they are the best knives BM has to offer and have impressed me more than the standard line up..

I have a 14210, and it is actually in my pocket right now. VERY solid little knife, and a great EDC!

The 14300 is the one made in China. Still a nice knife from what I've been told. I haven't been able to find a local place that has one for me to look at tho. I actually like the awkward blade shape of the 14300 (HK30), but I do question the usefulness of that blade shape.

I have the 14210 and have carried it for the last 3 or 4 months and love the thing th 14205 look to be a 3.4 inch version of the 14210 to me.
