I went to a garage sale today and the fellow said he had an old 1940's fishing knife made by buck. He also said it had a stamp of the old file Co. on the other side of the knife from when Buck made there knives from file blades. Does anybody know what these are worth, ball park without pictures. I have an oppertunity to pick up some other Bucks but this one sparked my interest. I'll post pictures of the ones I picked up already in a few mins.

Here are pics of the knives I picked up this morning, We may have to do this in sections, so here we go

Cant help ya on the value of the old file knife Matt but I'd get it regardless.

Nice haul. How bout some other angles of the 110, butt rivots, rear spacer and so on.

the 118 looks good(the one youre not sure on)-give it a spa also.

Thanks ITE, I am glad to find out that fixed blade is a 118. I'll try to post more pics of the 110

The quality of your purchases looks to be quite high. I don't see much rust to chip off of those beauties. :D

Here is a pic of some of the early Buck knives that I saw last Spring @ OKCA. Perhaps you will be lucky enough to find similar knives in the garage sale. Should you find a Buck folder like the one top center you should consider buying it.

Oregon, I inherited a Buck knife from my Dad that looks like the one in the upper right - green handle with a white center washer. I have just the knife, a 105, not the axe. Any idea of the vintage? I believe my Dad purchased his sometime in the 1950's. I'd appreciate comments or info from anyone.

MBJ, Good haul . Thats a early 118 from the late 60's (1968-71) . That Camp and Field Set came with a lot of goodies in it, from 2004, a 279, diamond sharpening rod, Buck folding saw, note pad, ect.. You don't see many of those gift sets complete . My youngest daughter has one . Any Twin Set is a good find (model 104) . Yours has the correct knives but the 102 looks to have been replaced . Look on the back of the twin sheath and tell us what its stamped . The 110 is an early one . DM
