Info needed on Becker Patrol Pack

So I did graduate from University, Magna Cum Laude and Honord Philosophy degree :) and I am going to spoil myself with a pack. I wanted a "military" kind of pack, and my research lead me to the Becker Patrol pack! But, there are 2 sizes and the info I get on the net conflicts with itself.

So, you guys with becker packs, how much room is there in them? I use a 30 litre North Face pack, which is about 1800 cubic inches. I need something bigger, but not HUGE, as this pack will be an urbanite pack, doubling for duty as a day hike pack. I read that the Becker has interior compartments, but that helps me little. I need to stuff a laptop, a few binders, soem books, a few knife mags and some lunch in the pack. Do I need the regular becker, or the large becker? Thanks for your help.
