Info Needed on Joe Hawk & Wade Chastain Knives! I have a couple knives made by Joe Hawk and Wade Chastain...anyone have photos of other knives of theirs and info on the makers? Thanks, Ed edhicks82@aol.com

Ed,

I have a small skinner made by Joe Hawk. Joe lived in Ceres Virginia and was a Knifemakers Guild member. I heard he stopped making knives in the late '80s or early '90s due to health reasons. Joe had two sons that also made knives, Joey and I can't remember the others name.

I will try to post a photo of my skinner when I get home from work.

Take care

Charles

Here is the skinner.

This knife was a gift from a family friend. It was also my introduction to handmade knives.

Buffalo horn scales hammered textured on the flats.
