Info on 940 154cm

I traded for a 940 on the exchange and just assumed it was S30v. Once inspected it was 154cm, I always liked BM's 154cm as a good everyday user steel so I wasn't upset in the least. The knife instantly became my favorite carry and got me back into the over priced world of BM. It also led me to nabbing a 943 off of here and my new EDC the 940-1.

I can't find much info on when BM switched to S30v on the 940 line and was wondering if I can have some details.
 
Some older models had 154cm on them. Not sure if it was exactly the 940, or ones with similar blades but different handle colors (i.e. 943, or that pink/red 940)
 
My 940 is 154CM with the standard green scales. I think I picked it up some time in 2001. [emoji3] It's still one of my favorites to carry.

I'm pretty fond of mine as well. I might buy some G10 scales for it at some point, aluminum isn't ideal for an EDC.
