Hello fellas

I think I'm in the market for a Strider and am interested in some specifics on a PT. What is the blade length - handle to tip and what is the overall length. Undfortunately I can not find that info on the Strider site.

For the owners of the PT, what is your impression of it's ability to be your EDC knife? Does it ride comfortably in the pocket, etc.?

Also - Is it reasonable to think that I could get my hands on one, used obviously, for $200 or less?

Pics would be great!

Thanks in advance.

It's small, very pocketable. It was a little too small for my taste so I sold it.

If you find one for less than $200 I think you would be very fortunate. $250 is a more realistic bargain price, IMO.

Ditto...
So Small it seems a bit "fake"

I had a PT CC.. GREAT knife! The one I had was absolutely perfect... a GEM. I am a big dude, and definitely fill an XL glove, so the knife was a LITTLE small for my tastes. I'd like to try out a regular PT some day. With the big choil it is pretty nice... I just could not get a very comfortable grip in the intended position... saber grip.

Have had a PT as one of my daily users for a few years now , switched to a PT CC when I scored one during the shot show. For a daily use knife , it will take all you can ask of it and then some. It carries well ( carry mine in a sharkskin mission wallet ) , is comfy to hold and use , and I find this one to open & close very smooth.

It's a small knife that someone forgot to tell it that it is a small knife. It's a workhorse...

The Strider PT's small, but one tough little folder. I have a recurve PT with a STR low-rider clip on it. I like it so much, I tend to carry & use it more than my small classic micarta Seb.

Small tends to be the overwhelming response here. To those of you who own the PT, is the size of the handel comparible to the that of a mini-grip?

What does the CC after PT mean?

I never sell knives, but I sold my PT because it was so teeny weeny.

Its been a while, but as to the mini Grip comparo, it feels smaller because it is flatter, as I recall.

Not trying to dissuade your purchase. But to me its more of a gentleman's knife (in application, not appearance) than it is a "hard use" folder. Nothing wrong with that. JMO.

CC = "Concelaed Carry". The scales are rounded off so that they're not as blocky as a regular PT and they don't print in your pocket as much.

I got Archie's PT-CC from him and he's right. It was a little gem. Perfectly executed in every way. Centered blade, no blemishes, perfect lockup... a "little" gem... "little, very little". The PT has about a 2 1/2" blade with about 2 1/4" given to the cutting edge. that's not enough for me. Even my SnG was a little short on cutting edge.

As far as being tough and capable though, it's a Strider. If you can dish it out, the PT can take it. The ergos on the PT are as good for me as on any Strider and that means better than any mini-Grip for my hand.

I like mine lots . Tuff and grippy . The Choil makes it very intrinsically safe . I wear XL gloves , and find it fits my hand well . Does everything I have ever asked of it an more . The Only Strider I carry regularly . Feels much better than my mini grip . My Strider folders have exhibited no fit an finish issues . I would very much like a PT-CC .

Thanks for the input fellas. I guess I keep saving up and and purchase one to try it out. If I didn't have to worry about local laws I'd go with a larger blade, but the PT is just the right size.

I can't thank you guys enough for the fast input.

I've got two PT's (one's never been used) and have been quite happy with mine. I also regularly carry a small Sebenza and a mini Ritter. They all are a pleasure to carry. The PT is small, but works like a big knife. Man I do looooove those CC's you people have shown!!

To anyone above that is unhappy with the small size of the PT, I would love to take one off your hands. I was "blessed" with small hands and the SnG seems a little big for me. Seriously....

Check the for sale section. Also, check the rules on this forum. If you want to buy something you must post in the "Wanted to buy" forum.

Good luck.
