Hello all, New here and not much of a knife connoisseur. I have knives that fit my need sand that is about it. Why I am here is because of a lost knife form my youth I am trying to replace. Or at least find info about it even a picture would be great. I am willing to provide a bounty for this knife. From a very appreciative thanks to more depending on what it is that is provided.

Will start of with it was purchased in 88, 89, or 90. And in southern Oregon. I assumed that it was a production knife. Although I know that the store in which I bought it only had the one. And never saw another one since. I do not remember it having any manufacture marks, but since I was a teen I did not pay attention to this type of thing and could be wrong about this. The only thing that I remember written on it was that the blade had "HELLFIRE" or "HELLSFIRE" in black bold letters written on one side of the blade. With a bold lined black flame above the name. I do not remember any of the stamped markings or if it had any. I will say I have tried over the years to look online and have never even come close to anything like it. I would hope that by this alone some one knows what I am looking for and can help out.

Now for a physical description. And please bear with me in my description. I will say that I could provide a picture of a hand drawn picture for those that wish to help out. Other wise I will try to make it a simple as I can. Since it was a simple knife. Imagine a WWI trench knife with out the blade. Only with two holes for fingers. One near the hilt for a single finger. And towards the base a larger oval whole for the other three fingers. And with for subtle points over the fingers like a trench knife. Now take it and split it into two equal 1/8 inch thick pieces. So that you had two working brass knuckles basically. Although this whole thing was, except for the blade of course, brushed stainless I think. I know it had a brushed non reflective look to it. Now with the two piece set apart and on one end you had a latch from a balisong blade wear the skullcrusher end of a trench knife would be. And at the hilt end a balisong blade. With the tow pieces set apart you could fold in a blade to set inside the two pieces and have a handle of a balisong fold up in to it as well. So you can still put your fingers through the wholes and have the balisong in your palm. Basically a brass knuckle of sorts. And when you remove your fingers and flip the latch open you can swing out the one handle and flip out the blade. The blade was a spear point. I do not remember for sure if it was double edged or not. I think it was. But may have been a single edge with a half false edge. Very sorry if this is confusing. As I said earlier I would provide a picture of a hand drawing of it to assist in the help of finding one of these. I will say that is was very well built. No play or loose fittings. Very tight set up. And all the outer edges where beveled off so no sharp edges. Expect for the points over the knuckles.

Will assist all that I can with this. And a big thanks for your time and help.

This is all I could find using Google-fu

Thanks jimw451......That is what I almost always come across. That one or there is a brass knuckle with no blade called a hellfire that always pops up.

in general, these type of knives tend to be more of a novelty and if there was no makers mark, i doubt it came from a reputable company. sounds to me like it would be a Chinese made piece that probably hasn't been produced since around the time you first bought it. but this is just a guess.

jimnolimit, I am sure this may be the case. I know the quality of it was not at all cheap like most novelty pieces form overseas, but probably was an overseas job. And was only made around the time I purchased it. I just hope to find some one else that has seen one or has one they wish to part with.

how much did the knife cost you when you originally bought it?

if it was a chinese made novelty knife that has been out of production for the last 20 or so years, it's going to be extremely hard to find one for sale.

I do not remember exactly. I know for the time it was way expensive for a teen. I want to say around 80 to 100. I know I spent several months looking at it and debating till finally dipping into savings to buy it. And may have been over the 100 mark. But I want to say no where near the 200 mark. Like I said in the description. It was not at all loose or did it have any play in it. The quality of the work was very good as well as the materials. It had a great fit and finish. I always got ohhh and ahhhs when I showed it off.

I know this will be a hard find. But some one some where has to have one and more info about it.
