Anyone got a nomad and if so what do you think of it. Thinking about getting one.

Thanks,

TGT

Don't have the Nomad. but do own a Shrike- they (along with the SERE) are very similar in build quality, construction and action. Almost pulled the trigger on one several times, not sure why I didn't, great knife. Moki has a very good reputation for quality knives. Some have commented that the choil is a bit small to be useful, hard to say without handling it.
Good comparison shots in this thread:

I have a Nomad. It's a great 3" blade. Like you would expect from Al Mar, the F&F is top-notch and the blade is as sharp as any production knife I've handled... equal to Spyderco's OOB sharpness, IMAO. The flat ground blade slices *very* well.

The liner lock is solid and mine hasn't moved in the year or so that I've had it. I don't EDC it, so it doesn't get that kind of use, but it has been carried and used. There is no noticable blade play in any direction, the liners and scales are very well mated and finished. The knife is light (probably why I don't carry it much), even with the SS liners, and the G10 is nice and grippy w/o being hard to pull from your pocket. The clip doesn't make the knife ride as low as the SERE & mini-SERE, but it's not bad.

They're a bit pricey, but that's an Al Mar characteristic. I think you do get a very good product for the $.

great knife. fit and finish are beautiful. a little small but cool design esp. in black. i ended up with a shrike just for size though

I have a Nomad, and it is my intermediate-size EDC.

Rat Trap for jeans.
Nomad for dressier casual.
Mnandi for suits.

I like to keep things simple.:D

I like it a lot, have found no design or quality faults with it.
One subtle feature is that the design of the handle slabs on the blade end makes a dandy little impact weapon when the blade is closed, not that I ever hope to need it.
