I am looking at trading for a "satin" AL Mar Warrior.

Can anyone here give me some info on this knife?
...blade-length, blade thickness, over-all length, weight, steel used, etc.

Thanks.

Hello Dann!

The best I remember (please forgive me if any, or all of this info is incorrect

) The knife was ground from ¼" stock, the blade measured right around 7" (maybe just a tad more), and the OAL was right around 13½".

As far as the weight (it is heavy, btw) and the steel used, I am not sure about either.

I have been wanting one of these babies also, but everyone I have seen lately has went for well over $200... Just a bit high for me.

It is an awesome blade though... I have a few pictures of them somewhere, and if you would like, I will try to upload them and post a few...

Just let me know!

Darn, I guess I have the "wrong" Greg Walker book...("Modern Knife Combat"), although it DOES show (him?) holding a "Warrior" (or two) on the front cover.

Yea, thats him on the second book cover, on the first book it's a pic of a AMK Warrior with various patches, tabs and scrolls from Spec-Ops units. Just looked at the chapter, not a whole lot of data, just a very brief history of the blade and a short interveiw with Al Mar. No specs or anything like that.
If you did a search for Michael Echanis, I remember one on this site with over 150 hits, I'm sure you would find out a lot more than Walkers book puts out.
Hope this helps..

I didn't look far enough to see if the specs were given, or different, but there is no doubt that the REKAT Warrior is definitely derived from the Al Mar version.

Anyhow, there is at least a fairly thorough history of the Warrior at this URL:

Gonna go back and read it now myself.

Hey!

Ihad one a while back, looks are very, very cool.
But in my opinion it's not useable, too heavy and bulky to carry. As it's not really useable for utility (in my opinion) it's just a fighter.

Very cool knife but for me not useable.
Quality seemed good and finish was great.

The newer REKAT Hobbit 's are much more in the useable range (for me).
Check'em out!
