Info on an old kabar cleaver

Can anyone tell me about the old KaBar cleavers? I'm thinking about getting one but I don't know anything about it. Anything and everything you can tell me about it would be awesome.

Can you post a picture of what you are thinking of getting? If it's an old Union/KA-BAR, I can ID it for you and give you some background on dates, steel, etc. There have been several cleavers produced over the years.

The one I was interested in was on eprey and it sold already. I was hoping to get someone who knew about them before it sold. This was merely a shot in the dark for quick info on it because I couldn't find any online.

not me... i don't know nothing about old KaBar cleavers, but i'm subscribing to learn :> i like cleavers.

Don't try to chop a deers head off with a new Old Hickory cleaver. I bent the edge of the blade around a bone. I got lucky & was able to put in on my mini-vise-anvil & pound it back in shape. Thought it was thick enough but NOT !!!

Just for records sake, it sold for just over $18, and here are the relevant parts of the item description.
