Info on beer barrel oak beer scouts

I remember seeing a page with info, age and a picture I think, of the beer barrel oak scouts. Gec website doesn't seem to have it anymore.

But can't find it, any and all info helps..

It seems they did pull down the info on this model. If you Google charred oak beer scout and go to images, down the list is the shipping certificate with the brief story on it. I would've posted it here but I'm not sure how all of the copyright works so I didn't want to do that.

This speaks more directly to the charred oak beer barrel covers, but it's my understanding the same barrel was used for the charred and non-charred. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong.
