I got lucky and was able to purchase a Busse Combat Battle Mistress at an auction. Ar least that is what I think. It is completely pristine after all these years. It has sort of green black micarta scales with 3 slotted grey frosted finish screws per side. The scales are smooth but do swell somewhat in the center (or have slight indentions sanded into them between the screws). If you go to Arizona Custom Knives, search by maker, select Busse Combat Knives, select 50 items per page and go to page 44. There is one pictured that is exactly the same as this knife. It has a smooth black finish. The blade is 9.5 inches. I am at my farm without access to a micrometer. The blade near the handle is about 9/32 inch (6 inch Starrett ruler) The top and bottom of the handle have been finished such that they are a perfect fit with the scales. This finishing removed the black applied finish in that area. It has the Busse two holes beneath the scales. Total length is 15.5 inches. It came with a kydex sheath with a formed belt loop on the back. If I knew how to post some pictures I would. The micarta scales are not scalloped but straight. Any information you could provide would be appreciated. Can't decide if I will use it or keep it as is. I don't want to throw a rock through a stain-glass window so to speak. It is very sharp although the finsh at the edge looks rough. It will snap cut slivers of printer paper. The heirs of a collector found over 300 knives in a closet under a staircase. It seems that all were brand new but no boxes. Many rare Case pocket knives and lots of Bowies.

The color of the scales is the same but the one I won has smooth scales. Also the black finish on mine is as manufactured.

So per the description you gave it’s a SH or Straight Handle Variant with corby bolts holding on smooth micarta handles.

Very close to the second from the top. At the tip where that top edge is worked there is a smoother start. No indentation.
