Info on clipped knives

Good luck man...Go for it, super easy, I had mine ground in about 2 minutes.

Just go slow, you wont burn the metal THAT easily but just dont be stupid and hold it there for an hour and you'll be fine :p.

I haven't personally clipped a knife before, but mark your clip before you grind, and if you want more clip, then make another mark and keep going. Measure thrice, cut once.

For me the clipping was easy, cutting the swedges is another story. Just keep it cool and post lots of pictures.

Thanks guys. I might go to my dads and use his belt sander after Isaac passes or my dremal. Not sure yet

The best rule to abide by, is if the metal is too hot to touch to your lips, its too hot. I just ground the ramp off of my BK7 the day before yesterday, with a bucket of water right next to the grinder, make a 3 second pass, dunk it, 3 seconds, dunk it, and so on. My blade never got more than palm warm the whole time.

That should make quick work of it and givse you a good smooth profile. are you going for a bowie style clip or something different?

I'm am not sure yet. I might just wing it

Plan ahead. Mark it, or use paper to cover the areas you might wanna remove. You can always take off more, but you can't put anything back.
