Info on GC CO Japan

At the Houston Gun Collectors Show recently I picked up a Bowie styled ,Large knife.It is 30-1/2 in O.A.L., 21in. blade, 2-1/2 in.wide, 3 brass rivets hold the handle slabs to the full tang.The only markings I can find on the blade appear to be: ...G C C O Japan...Can anyone shed any light on this maker and knife??

Yes Gutmann Cutlery Co...They were an Importer, who imported knives from Italy (including switchblades), Germany and Japan.....mostly well made knives for the time.
