So I found a crkt m16-fd and wanted to know more about the knife. It seems it’s rare and that it was made for firefighters but I know nothing else any help would be much appreciated.

A picture of the knife would help folks tell you more/ identify the knife.
But if it's the one I'm thinking of with red handle scales and a tanto blade:
Seems like it pretty much shares the same characteristics and similar specs to the rest of the M16 line.
The flipper tab is called the "Carson Flipper" and the serrations are called "Triple-Point Serrations"
The red handle, logos, etc. making it a limited edition FD model do make yours extra cool though
If you really like CRKT's M16 line it'd be cool to start a collection of all the different ones. ;)

Also, welcome to Blade Forums :D
