I just picked up an incredible custom equal end jack by Bob Conley. The workmanship is top notch and his file work is staggering. Bought it from a dealer and only know Mr. Conley is from Jonesboro Tn. and has been at it since 1979 from Mr. Levines book. Wish I could scan it but I'm a PC midget. Can anyone share what they know? Thanks

Have owned a nice folder of Bob's since '90. It was created in '89. Engraved bolsters with stag heads and oak leaves. Nice file work. Incredibly sharp with nice iron wood scales.

point to http://www.cgcweb.com/cgi-local/mkrsearch.pl

more details are available there as is the case in locating many makers, the Chuck Cunningham BAKCA is a great online utility.

Glad you are enjoying the knife.

I have 2 of Bobs knives. One i bought in the mid 80s, its a single blade slip joint with cocobolo handles and double nickle silver bolsters. The other was purchased in 88 or 89 at the guuild show in Orlando. It is a lock back with impala horn handles, fully engraved bolsters, lock bar, liners and the top of the blade, workmanship is awesome. The only thing in my collection to rival it is a equally embellished folder by Harvey McBurnette.

Thanks guys, obviously I'm not alone in my opinion of his workmanship. Murray, could'nt get the link to work, something about my browser not supporting POST, oh well. Some more detail on my Conley: clip master and spear secondary blades, flawless yellow lip mother of pearl scales, leaf pattern file-work from the tip of each blade, along both springs, seamlessly around the butt, and onto the inside of the springs, really staggering. Everything is mirror polished. But it's not just pretty, it's perfectly balanced and feels right in the hand. One of these days, I'll figure out a way to post a pix.

Boy it sure sounds like it. nice to have a double bladed piece for what was probably a very reasonable price. Bob's knives are also very sharp.

Thanks Murray, added the page to my favorites and will give it a better look later. Guess Mr. Conley isn't much on self promotion but the knife speaks for him!
