Can anyone direct me to information (books, videos, etc.) on how to make Kydex/Concealex sheaths?

Thanks,

Hoodoo, have you come to the right place or what! Just do a search in this fourm under Kydex or Concealex sheaths and you'll have enough info to create a book. I know fourm member Chiro75 has detailed the process very well a number of times. As for a video, I haven't seen one, I know Newt Livesay of Wicked Knives mentioned he is in the final stage of editing a video on kydex sheath making, but that won't be out until next year.

Take care,
Tom

Once you're done reading the archives here, if you still have specific questions, then email me and I can help answer them. There are a lot of folks who use these forums and use Kydex and Concealex, but unfortunately not too many of them are very vocal in sharing "secrets"! The best way to learn how to use it is to do the same thing I did: get some material and try making a sheath. I did it with almost no direction and, while the results are crude, I was left with a functional sheath. You can see the result of my very first sheath if you look at my kit knife webpage and click on the Simonich Cetan Tanto project! http://www.geocities.com/CollegePark/Lab/1298/knifehome.html

Good luck and just post or email if you have questions that can't be answered in the archives.

Thanks for the great tips! Looks like I'm going to have some fun. I've always liked dinking around making leather sheaths but this is a whole new breed. Something to keep me off the streets for awhile.

I too would be happy to help with your sheath project...Just ask!

Maybe I should put up a Concealex sheath page...then I can be just like Chiro74!

Really, you will find it a little frustrating at first, but a lot of fun!

Mostly you just need to do a few...I'm sure you will catch on fast...
