From my other post:

"Since I'm already familiar with Sony Clié and the Palm OS, I thought I'd pick up a Sony UX-50. Mostly for the extra memory, WiFi capabilities, and adding a GPS module."

Anyone here have a Sony Clié UX-50 PDA?

Sony got out of the PDA business except for in Japan.

Good luck.

Yes, I think I heard about that. Too bad. But there are lots of UX-50's for sale on eBay. I'd just like to hear about some personal experience with them.

I recently thought I needed one as well. I stopped my search because if something goes wrong with it, there is no support from sony on it in the US. I like the form factor, and everything it does, it just wasn't worth the risk to get one and not have it fixable if it goes down. I'm thinking a palm tungsten T5.

You mean that if something need to be repaired and you're willing to pay for it, a Sony Service Center won't touch it? I might have to rethink this. :(

(I was only considering the UX-50 because it seemed to fit in nicely - with the features it offers - between my various 'travelling' laptops, my Blackberry, and my Razr. My Sony PEG-NR70V is running out of memory.)

That is the way I understand it. Check out www.brighthand.com, it's a good pda info site.

Thanks. Of course I bookmarked Brighthand ages ago, just haven't visited for a while. ;)

I used to do advertising work for Sony when I had my agency - I think I'll call someone and get a direct answer. (If I can. ;) )
