I finally got a brochure. Heres the pertinent data for those of you who might want to attend.
It will be held at Tannehill Ironworks which is 11 miles west of Bessemer, Alabama. It runs April 7,8,and 9 with checkin from 1300-1700 and 1900-2100 on the 6th and 0700-0800 on the 7th. The cost is $125. The number to call for a brochure is 256-539- 3975. Some of the folks who will be there sharing their knowledge are: Don Fogg, Rick Dunkerley, Steve Dunn, Joe Keeslar, Mel Pardue, Keith Kilby, and Billy Watson. There are camp sites and cabins you can stay in if they're available. Heres the number for that 205-477-5711.
Heres some of the subjects they'll cover: old timey knife making, mosaic damascus, fancy folders, friction folders, damascus for beginners, knife grinding finishing and sheath fittings, hands on bladesmithing, learn to scrimshaw, simple engraving, build your own air hammer, and theres also a knife show for you to sell your wares and an auction and even a tailgate sale for you to sell extra tools and materials you might have. Hope to see some of you there!! Take care! Michael

Always think of your fellow knife makers as partners in the search for the perfect blade, not as people trying to compete with you and your work!
