In looking at the 'Bucks For Sale' here on the forum a CS 112 stag from 1980 was offered..and sold quick! But it stopped and made me think..Just what was the CS like??? It was before web sites..Was there a cataloge you could get? How did it work to order?Could you look at different handle materials and pick something? Was there different price lists?I'm really curious about 112's in particulure because thats my main interest in collecting/displaying..I once bought a 112 scrimshawed that the seller said he bought in Bucks shop himself...I wished I had thought to ask what the shop/store looked like!Could a few of you old time collectors go back in time and tell us newbies what it was like to buy a CS 110 or 112??? Just how can you tell if a 112/110 IS a 'True' CS Buck? Many of us 'new' collectors have heard conflicting info on what to look for,how many were made, ect.ect.I know fixed blade Buck collectors have more knives to chase but it's my dream one day to be able to display a nice handful [like maybe 3 or 4!] true CS model 112's made during the early days!

You know, I'm not a true 112-110 collector. Although I have several of both. I think instead of trying to figure out what was custom shop, try to get a firm grasp on what was production made. Everything else is special project, custom shop, or limited edition. LE have serialized #ing usually, SP and CS are the tough ones. I think CS are going to be more ornate and things dont add up as far as what the norm would have been. I hope this helped a little. Like I said I'm not a 112-110 collector. I love 300s ask me a question, go ahead.

Hi Clint,

Go to the BCCI web site and you can see the old CS catalog's it will help fill your mind with the offerings. I was not collecting Buck knives back then and when I see the price's and materials that were available I get a tear in my eye. I would like to have one of each CS Buck knife model with DM steel and Mastodon Ivory.....please! It never hurts to dream.
