Here's one for you 112 collectors. I've had this for sometime, but hadn't thought too much about it. The blade graphic seems to be just printed on somehow instead of etched and appears to have worn off a little at the K. It has the date stamp for 2007 and the box has a date of 08/03/07. The # is 0112GRSSM-B, catalog #4702. It isn't in the 2007 catalog.

Does anyone have any idea what it was for? Could there have been a series of "Young Bucks" that included other patterns as well?

Well, duh! After I posted this, the certificate fell out of the box. I'd never seen it before today. I'd still like to know if there was another pattern (110 for Old Buck?) made and how the blade was done.

Hi Dave,

These were made for SMKW. There is also a 110 that said "Old Buck" or some such.

yes as a mater of fact here was a old buck to match
SMKW issue sold out in one or two weeks
i got the set and then bucksway talked me out of the 112
i have not seen the 110 on ebay as yet
or the 112 ((as i need a replacement ))

Seems to me that I read here or somewhere about a way of putting graphics or lettering on blades with out "etching", some kind of printing I think.
Any one else recall that?

Funny you ask, The pictures show up green on my monitor.

OK it looks green in the certificate...I guess it kinda looks green in your shot. Black/green maybe. I must have crappy old equipment.

Naww. Could just be the color settings on your monitor are set different than mine. I know that on my laptop, the colors will change depending on how my screen is tilted. You are right though, the handles are darker in the picture than in real life.

I use a 21 inch high resolution color calibrated graphic tube screen. And this one shows the scales black with a grenn/brown tint. When I saw the picture the first time I was sure the scales are black.

Could be the green towel, that was used for the background, makes it look black. It looks black to me also.

:o I checked this thread out on another of my computers and sure enough, on it the handles do look black with just barely a hint of green. :foot:

Looks very green on my screen. Maybe some folks need to upgrade their screen....or down grade. I have an older 17" flat. The wife thought it would be nice for my B-day awhile back to upgrade to a 22" flat. :( the new screens are all Wiiiide screen and everything was ether stretched or short and fat. The nice old 17" is square and everything looks like it should. the new screen went back and I bought a some new hunting gear and a new knife:)
