Hi all,
Does anyone know the specific model and era this Gerber multi tool was made? I cannot seem to find a model number on it, just Gerber USA marks. Also, it seems to have a soft satin or beadblasted type finish. Thanks in advance.
 
That is an MP600. The MP400 does not have the ruler but has 3 elongated holes on each handle.

The finish is the standard one that Gerber uses on these. If you are into modding this is a great platform to do it👍
 
I had one a few years ago. In my opinion it's not as good as a Leatherman. The knife blade is bad. It would not stay sharp. I don't know if it was cheap Steel, poor heat treat, or both. The plyers weren't as comfortable. They slide out after pushing the 2 buttons. It's a good idea, but it didn't work for me. Others might have a different opinion.

I'd say somewhere between 1999-2005 by rough estimate. judging by the open slot design on the larger tools and the knife blade. The sheath isn't as old though that's probably a replacement sheath bought in 2005-2011 going off the logo artwork.
