Info on this knife

My dad gave me this knife when I was little and its sat at my nightside table for years and iv always wanted to know a little about it if anyone knows anything about this knife it would be greatly appreciated :)





It has IXL on the side of the blade and it has George wostenholm as a signature.
 
Sailor's knife. Sometimes also known as a mariner's knife, or rigging knife. The 'spike' is a marlinspike, for working with rope. The small blade (shown closed in your pics), I believe, is an opener for tins/cans of food & such.

Do yourself a favor and put it away as a keepsake from your Dad , you will appreciate it one day.

I see diferently. I say use it. I still carry my dads old trapper withthe worn out blades. Every time I pull it out to use it i just chuckle. It allways brings back cool memories.
