In my ultimate pursuit of information before I buy another grinder, I ran across the website for the Unigrinder. I note that you cannot buy it completed, but it is one in which you buy the plans and make it yourself. If you see the photos it appears to have everything I'm looking for--

Has anyone obtained the plans and built one for themselves or others? Can you do it in your own shop? How much of the fabrication must be outsourced? Excluding the motor, how much is the estimated cost to fabricate? How easy was it to make? Parts difficult to obtain? Is anyone making these for resale?

Now that you've built it what do you think of its performance? Is it as easy to operate as it appears? Anybody got details?--thanks, Dan:D :D :D :D

if you want to build a grinder you will need idelar wheel
and tracking wheel look into getting some of Rob Frink
he does a great job.
One thing about building a grinder sometimes it can be counterproductive, messing up and getting the stuff together
and getting a contack wheel etc.
I have seen some of the unigrinder plans I think they are 75 dollars
by the time you go through the trouble you could buy one for the same price, trail and error on a grinder are expensive mistakes.
just my thoughts
:)

I built one and love the machine! Plans are good and priced @ $50 for a set of them. You need to be an experienced metal fabricator in order to build this machine. I would NOT reccomend a novice to attempt this project. Would I do it again knowing what I do now? Yeah, I think I would, but I would sure be tempted to buy a KMG-1 from Rob Frink too. the plans call for using automotive water pump bearings for wheels. For the life of me I could not find the things anywhere so I backed up and redesigned to use standard wheels I had Rob Frink make for me.

Good sound advise Bill, thanks for the correction on the price of the plans
I just got a KMG and I am getting ready to get everthing in order
to start grinding on it.Rob has done a great job on the grinder a real piease of Art Work.if you can afford one go with the KMG you will not
go wrong.;)
