I have recently come by a pair of matching knives in sheaths. They are wooden handled and have the Nazi eagle and swastika emblem on the handle. They are stamped 'NS' on the metal below the emblem at the headof the blade. The blades are marked
'Alles Fur Deutschland' and the makers mark is Carl Scmidt Sohn A-G Solingen. Any ideas as to the origins and value?? Both are in reasonable condition but could do with a little cleaning?

Regards

I don't know anything about these knives, but I do know that the experts out there will need pictures if they're going to identify them.

Don't clean them or any other knife of potential value.

Welcome to BFC.

If you would post some pictures, we can move this to a forum where the experts can help out.
Thanks.

Well, I don´t know much about theese knives. But I´m a german.

The "Sturmabteilung" short "SA" directly translated to Englishlanguage would mean "Storm-Department". Theese guys where the police of the NSDAP. This was the party of Adolf Hitler. Later is was the (1933 - 1945) it was the german gouverment.
In the time before 1933 the SA was there for securing the party-functionists at great events, while they were talking to the people. Every party in the "Weimarer Republik" had such a party-police. The SPD and the Zentrum or even the KPD.
But if theese ones are original and not just replicas (what I think), because from 1933 and 1945 the SA had not more than about 12.000 members. They would be great collectors knives.
As I know, the SA knives, were given out to the members of the SA. But I think, most of them where destroyed after ending of the war, because of the emblems, which are here forbidden (which is pretty ok to me).
Hope I could help a little bit.

Kind regards

Pictures will show the experts whether the knives are originals or the ever-prevalent replicas.
