Hey all! I picked up this bad boy at an antique store yesterday and have been trying to research it. Sadly however, I cannot find much even after looking through old catalogs and such. This knife bears a strong resemblance to the “G Schrade Hunting and Fishing Knife” Despite the similarity in style and look, the handle has a completely different pattern and does not lock. The tang stamp reads “STAINLESS ST G Schrade Bridgeport Conn”. It lacks any patent numbers, though there is a sticker on it that reads “MS 286”, though this could’ve been from the previous owner or antique store. I would really enjoy getting a date and name of the model!! Thank you. (I am a novice knife collector and am not particularly well educated on the matter, sorry if I am using this forum wrong).

There were a lot of transition knives being developed prior to the Federal Switchblade Act in anticipation of it. This is indeed one of them. They were discontinued when H. Boker bought the company in 1956 because they had their own line of pocket knives. They were of simple construction much like the Wire Jack.

I am super excited to hear that I have such a cool piece!! Do you know how long these were in production? Also, were many of the developmental knives pushed to market?
