Damn it Xaman I was saving for a FSH. But seriously Ban does excellent work and is busier than a shot glass at the Busse factory so I'd get in quick because you never know when he just might stop doing mods. Mo I wish I would have known you back then.... Oh and thanks for the payment. I'll make sure Ban gets it.

rjacks, welcome to BladeForums, and the best corner of it!

I hope you have lurked here a little to realize that the replies to your question are typical of the good fun we have here and are what makes this such a great little community.

If you are contemplating buying your first Busse, then it is only fair to warn you : Stop now, don't do it! You are sure to suffer the ravages of Wauseon Wasting Syndrome, and will end up like the rest of us, F5ing all night with a Scotch in the other hand, waiting for a chance to feed our habit.

I'm assuming you have seen the threads of Ban's work, and I trust you are aware that such work will typically void the Busse warranty. We just trust the INFI (and a little common sense) to keep us out of trouble.

Yup! Anyone, thinking about having their Busse knives modded should keep this in mind. I do my best to let people know this before they engage in the mod but I may sometimes forget. I have many times talked people out of certain mods because it was in their best interest to leave certain knives alone. Only do the mod if you have the intention of keeping and using it because it will be customized for your personal tastes and expectations.

A little common sense will go a long ways. ie. Don't expect to chop through concrete blocks or metal pipes without damage when you ask for a thinner edge that is optimized for wood. On the flip side don't expect a slicing dicing demon that will whittle hair when you want a more obtuse edge etc......
