HI, I just aquired this knife. Obviously it is a CoPilot and a Santa Fe Stoneworks model. The knife is in great shape, does not look to have been carried and only has some opening/closing marks on the lock bar and tang area, no box. It is numbered #124. Any idea how many were made and got any idea of value.
Thanks
Nick

A new Co-pilot from Santa Fe Stoneworks is $154.00 to $180.00. I'm not sure what premium there might be (if any) for the Spyderco Logo version. Sorry, no idea how many were made, but I assume anyone could have another made with the same pattern.

That is very attractive work, i have not heard of Santa Fe stoneworks. They are specialists in "customizing" Spydercos? Is there on online address?
Thank you-
Martin

Nick,

4 s ter is right on the Santa Fe Stoneworks standard pricing. The number is interesting though. I did not see the number on the blade in your attachment. Usually the number, on a production knife, means it was a Collector's Club member's knife at one time (First 200 of a production run.). If this had been offered directly by Spyderco, it would have been a variation of the basic production model, the number would be followed by a “V”. No "V" means the owner had it done after market. There are several Spydie models that pop up now and then with the web and Spyerco logo. They all have Santa Fe Stoneworks engraved on the clip side of the handle and the older models usually arrive packed in the plain black, red, or blue Spyderco box with a yellow Spyderco label affixed. My newest, a Robert Viele, in mother of pearl with web and logo, arrived in a blue on white Spyderco box and came with the Spyderco Edge-U-Cation literature, an AKTI pamphlet, and the normal Santa Fe Stoneworks care and feeding paperwork.

Hope this answers some of your questions.

PS: Didn't realize that was you, Nick. The Jesters are all doing well. Thanks again and don't forget about the PE versions. Will send photos of some SFSW Spydies.

Thank you for the web link, WOW, they do excellent beautiful work! It appropriately "dignifies" Spydercos even more :)

Nick,

All of the above replies are correct. Santa Fe Stoneworks has been around for along tome and consistently do high quality work.

We used to stock a variety of their stoneworks designs on Spyderco knives and each one was unique and a work of art. They also have a nice catalog that shows their basic models and designs. However, they will do other than basic if you want. For example, we always had them include the bug and one police model we had done with purple freshwater pearl and yellow pearl fan design with the white pearl web and silver bug - it was awsome. They also did a police model in black jet and inlayed a gold Navy Seal Trident for a special customer - truely a work of art.

I don't know about their increase in value but I can say they do not decrease in value. And their replacemnt cost keeps increasing. You have a nice piece in that Co-Pilot - treasure it!
