I recently picked up a kbknives sheath for my BK14 on Ebay and I wanted to post up some detailed pics of it and give my initial impressions. I have a real preference for carrying around a small fixed blade knife when I can social circumstances, etc. I almost always have a folder with me, but I find fixed blades to be a little handier and sturdier. The BK14 really fits the bill well for this. The handle is perhaps a little short, but it works well for me. I have added the factory grips to it and a set of tommythewho wood grips should show up today.
Anyway, I digress. Given this preference I wanted a sheath for the 14 that was better than the factory sheath. I really like leather, though I just got an AWESOME sheath for my BK12 from 710. I saw the kbknives sheaths online for a very reasonable price, so I decided to give them one a shot. Great sheath it is very, very well build and sturdy. It has a snap to hold the blade in place and there is a little room so that you can go up in scale size. More on this when I have a chance to add my wood scales.
The knife is held in place well and the sheath rides on your belt so well you dont even notice it. The craftsmanship is top notch. Ive been wearing it where I can for a few weeks now and it has really been handy easy to take deploy the knife and to put it back one handed. Very secure, and a very noticeable snap when you secure it. I also like snaps on my leather sheaths and this really fit the bill well for me. He does make the sheath to order, so it takes a few weeks to get it, but worth it! On to the pics!
