I have a Dawson dagger in my collection that I have no information on. I sent an Email to Barry but haven't gotten a reply. Its double edged, bead blasted blade. OAL of the knife is 8 3/8" with the sharpened portion of the blade measuring in at 3 3/4". It has wooden overlays on the handle with brass pins. Blade stock is 3/16". It is stamped Dawson USA on one side, and 09 on the other. It looks very similar to the current defender model http://us.st11.yimg.com/us.st.yimg.com/I/yhst-7321468305845_1959_6398581 but the blade gets narrower before the horns on mine and the horns on mine are smooth with a slightly different shape.

I've had the knife since around 2000.

Anyone have any idea what model it is, what steel, value, etc?

Well, steel would be 440C or ATS-34, pretty sure, leaning towards 440C, as that is Barry's workhorse steel.

Not sure the model, but I owned the same one as you from description, and Barry was getting $175.00 for it at the time. Depending on condition, range would be around $100.00+/-, 'cause it is the short one, or so if you tried to sell it.

Stay on Barry, he'll get around to e-mailing you, you can try calling him too, if you have an Annual.

Best Regards,

STeven Garsson
