I own one from each of these two makers. Lee I do know was not a respected personality but was a respected maker. I would like to know a bit about him and his blades....Dr. Hollingsworth's collection contained a few Lee's in it...The Lee knife I possess is a 5" blade camp knife with rosewood pinned slab handles
I cannot seem to connect to any information regarding the Walker Brothers of Florence SC. Mickey Walker I believe was the maker of the 3" caper I posess in new condition with ivory slab micarta handles.....

any info is appreciated...thank you, Bob Dimesky, Pawleys Island SC

Hello guys, I own some knives from both of these deceased makers. ... my expanding collection of pre-84 Randalls, pre 82 Crawford and Don Hastings made knives..all of whom I originally represented in my Orvis Hunting & Fishing shop, Autumn & Greenleaf Outfitters in Simsbury CT (1974-1985)

Any information you can offer me as to the history of thise makers is appreciated and I would also like to know if any of the publications on line or otherwise are avalilable for me to read....thank you, bob Dimesky, Pawleys Island SC

I am also looking to locate information on Roger Nelson, of Cornwall Bridge CT who was an early maker of tapered tang hunting knives that employed the earliest paper micarta scales on his work. I have several of his knives and I understand he made under 100 pieces during his career. Not many Western CT knifemakers of repute in the 60's I am told.
Thank you, Bob Dimesky Pawleys Island, SC

I saw Tommy last year at Blade with Vicky as a tableholder, looking fit....did he pass since then?

Best Regards,

Excellent! "Rumors of my death have been greatly exaggerated...!"

Thanks, Vicki.

I chatted with Tommy Lee at Blade 2010. Had some nice knives and he was very friendly and a pleasure to talk knives with.

Hopefully he is still with us!

I live in Florence, and know Woody well. It was father and son, not brothers. Woody was a MASTER knife maker and greatly missed. Woody was the bank for the shop. Micky is a hack who rode on dads coat tail. more of a production line of simple easy to make items. I thought I knew him, but he was found to be a thief, rouge and general scoundrel. Check his name in FCSO booking. I ordered one design that he ruined with non spec cuts into the tang that caused friction blisters. Paid him to sharpen a blade, he ruined it with 1/32" cuts into the scallops "to make them sharper." knowing that 90 degree angels weaken metal and perpendicular cuts into a cutting edge ruins a blade. The blade snapped at one of his improvement cuts. A real Beck WSK need sharpening. He ruined the gut hook 1/4 round profile and saw back with what he said were improvements. I had to send it back to Beck, who could not repair the damage. I ordered a special item. No problem he said. a week later he called and asked for an advance of 160.00$ for leather (1/2 hide) and that was the agreed cost of the project. So, I paid him. Never received the item. he would not return calls. He did text me to say he had my order but "f888 you I have your stuff and you will never get it." Using a new phone and while at the Co. Magistrates office, the text was deleted by accident before I could get the Magistrate to sign the order. Never knew why he did that. $160.00 to find out what kind of man he really is is cheap.
