Hi, my name is Michael Kennedy, former Warehouse and Distribution Manager for Imperial Schrade Europe Ltd. The Irish manufacturing facility, based in Listowel, Co. Kerry, Ireland. I may be able to offer some knowledge of that part of The Imperial Schrade Corporation, should anyone be looking for it.

MTK,
Welcome to the forum.
We are always looking for inside information. We have dates but the good stuff has yet to be told.
Thanks for droppin in.

Wecome Michael!! I'm sure many questions will be forthcoming, it's always great to have folks on who actually had ties to the organization.

G'day Michael and a big welcome from Australia. My name is Hartigan and my family was from County Clare...how do you pronounce your location!...we have many Imperial Schrade related questions so please stick around. Precisely when did the factory close? Hoo Roo from Oz.

Welcome Michael. I would be interested to see any pictures you might have if your working days with ISC led to a collection. I've seen a few knives from time to time with Ireland stamped tangs. Never really knew what all knives were produced there.

Welcome Michael from Canada. People here never tire of learning more bout Schrade. I'm sure there will be quite a few questions. Thanks for joining.

Here's one... Tell me blade steel info if you can. I am always interested in knowing blade composition. "Schrade+" types have been discussed in other posts but perhaps you could add to that and I would be very interested in anything on the steel types used in Irish models. Thanks!

Come on Michael lets hear from you mate...with my family being Irish I am qualified to ask this question....is it true when the Irish Cutlers were counting the Schrade knives they went "one, two, tri, four, foive, another, another & another, another............!?" Hoo Roo..

I have a question for you regarding the Safe-T-Grip series of knives. When did the molds arrive, how long were they molded there before the molds were packed off to the Pacific Rim? Were the molded handles sent to Ellenville, or did you do the entire assembly process for a time in Ireland?

Thanks,
Michael

Hello and welcome, it's great to see you here.

I have a few knives from Listowel that I really like, old designs such as boyscout pattern and a fishing model. An inexpensive Barlow with carbon blades and hollow bolsters, stamped "Stag Ireland" is one of my daily users (not all original since I rebuilt the handle covers with epoxy putty).

I've found little info around the web, it seems that Jowika from Germany was who started it and later Schrade bought it. It would be very interesting if you could tell us something about the history or point out where it can be found.

Don Luis!
Great to see you again my friend.
It has been a long time since I have seen you post.
I hope all is well with you and yours!

Apparently Michigan only allows knives of 3" blade length to be carried in certain situations. I am trying to find documentation on this particular knife to make sure it complies with the law. So like a model number and maybe a catalog or flyer image or pdf file that states "officially" that the blade is 3" long. Any information on this knife would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much.
