I keep hearing of B72 being used to stabilize wood. Can anyone tell me what is B72, where do you get it, and how is it used. Thanks, Tom Lewis

I have a question about it too please. If it is dissolved with acetone or toluene for application, will it be affected by those solvents later? For that matter, would factory stabilized wood like from WSSI be affected by these solvents?

Thanks,
Steve

I don't think so Steve, but am not 100% positive. Maybe one of our resident "chemists" will jump in here. ;)

Edited to add; You might want to call Mike at WSSI. he could give you the scoop on how it would affect their product.
As a note here. I have wiped down stabilized blocks, and scales (WSSI) with acetone, and laquer thinner, with no ill effect on them. I just remembered this.
