I have worn out my keyboard searching for this knife online. I found three instances on Worthpoint. One has rosewood scales on both sides, the other two have a rubber-like scale and only show one side of the knife. One says "WITH BLACK RUBBERIZED TEXTURED GRIPS". the other says, "WITH A RUBBERIZED GRIP". Neither mentions a pocket clip.

So... It's up to all of you. Help.
See the pics,
and...
Thank you!

It's from the late 90's, early 2000's. Gutmann is/was owned by the family that owns the Grizzly tool brands and a few others, they bought it after the original Gutmann family retired. They had a knife sales company called "Gorilla and Sons" during the 90's - early 2000's. After a certain point, they phased out most cutlery sales, and shut down Gorilla and Sons to concentrate on the tool business.

The knife draws inspiration from the Pacific Cutlery line of the 80's, and a few other Japanese import brands of the 80's. I wouldn't doubt that the same subcontractors were used for all of them with only minor changes.

Agree with the previous post. Looks like a Gutmann model made in Seki under the ownership of Shiraz Balolia.
He also owned the Junglee brand.

Thank you all. I realized after I posted that i was not very specific.
I find SO few of this model. I'm trying to determine what options were available. I have found one with rosewood grips on both sides, no pocket clip. I have found two with the rubberized grip that seem to imply that the rubberized grip is on both sides, but neither shows the back side of the knife. That's a tad frustrating. I am smart enough to figure that mine is correct in that it has a pocket clip and no grip. A rubberized grip would hang up in a pocket and you'd never be able to deploy.

Again, I'm looking for what variations were offered. It is very well made. Good ATD.

Anyone? Catalogue pages, photos of one you own, photos from the web? I'm looking for information on what variations were offered. Specifically I am trying to find another example of one with a pocket clip. I want to be certain that mine is correct.
Here is what I've found...

The first has rosewood scales on both sides.

The next has rubberized grips and included this description:
"ALL STAINLESS STEEL WITH BLACK RUBBERIZED TEXTURED GRIPS" Notice grips, plural. Also, no mention of a pocket clip.
Of course there's no picture of the other side.

And the last one that I found also had rubberized grips and included the description:
"THE HANDLE IS 5 1/8 INCHES LONG,STAINLESS STEEL WITH A RUBBERIZED GRIP" No mention of a pocket clip.
Again, this is the only picture.

Although I cannot see the other side of these two with the rubberized grips, I'm almost certain that they have a grip on the unseen side and not a pocket clip. And even though I can't find another with a pocket clip there are reasons I'm fairly certain it is correct.
Still, any additional information on variants that are out there will be appreciated. Especially another with a pocket clip.

Thanks,
Greg

All,
I'm bumping this. Still looking for help. Please read below my expanded description of what information I'm looking for. My search is frustrating. The only version that I find with wood grips shows a picture of BOTH sides, with no pocket clip. The next two have rubberized grip/grips with only a picture of the side with the grip. I mean, what are the odds? I'm trying to find out if the one that I have, with a rubberized grip on one side, and a pocket clip on the other side (with no grip) is correct.
Thank you,
Greg

Yes, the scale on only one side is correct. My uncle had one of these years ago, same rubber grip model. Scale was only on one side. I'll call him and see if he still has it, and if I can get a picture.

I spoke with my uncle, he lost that knife. He said it came with the scale on one side, and was a gift from a friend.

IrishDevil...
Thank you thank you thank you. It seemed logical, but they are SO hard to find. And then the frustrations with only one side shown in every photo that I can find of the rubber grip model. I greatly appreciate your help.

Regards,
Greg
