After an intensive internet search, I have failed to find a single one like it. Does anyone have any info regarding this knife? The guy I bought it from said it was made in Germany but it does not have a country of origin on it.It is a well made knife and it has a feature I haven't seen before in that the main blade locks open and is released by depressing the big hoof blade. I love this knife! Can some kindly knife collector explain it's origin for me, please!

It's a modern late 70's - early 90's era Horseman's / Sportsman's knife. My understanding is a company in Germany licensed the Winchester name back then, and had a variety of patterns made up for them. The knives were both domestically produced in Germany, and imported from other countries like Japan.

To my eye, this could be German or Japanese, or a mix of parts from both areas.

Have this moved to Bernard Levine's forum, both he, and a member named Germania have have posted things on the Winchester - Germany connection before.

P.S. one of the German contractors for that line was Olbertz, who has been involved with the Schielper / Eye Brand for a few decades.

What confuses me is, In my limited knowledge, The Parker German knives had "Germany" stamped on the tangs or blades. I have a couple. I'll take your advice. Thanks
