Information Request

Hello all,

I've been looking at picking up a small, hard use outdoor knife for my brother who's a major outdoors nut. I've just read Mistwalkers review of the XC EST alpha and really like that. I am also looking at the TOPS M1 Midget. Does anyone know if the serrations on the top of the M1 Midget are real serrations or are they more like the common TOPS chainsaw style saw teeth.

Couple of questions.

does it have to be stainless for your brother? what are his outdoor nutty things he likes to do? is it more camping/hiking vs say fishing or hunting... that might help point you in a better direction...
