Hey guys,

Do any of you happen to have accumulated this cool old pamphlet? it looks like it was included with axes at a certain point in history. Contains information about use and care of an axe head. I saw it on an auction for a NOS axe head and took a couple screen shots of it. Though I would check to see if anyone had the whole pamphlet. I'd like to read the rest of it!

I've seen several other manufacturers use the same diagrams and even the same wording before. I can't seem to find those other examples even though they are here in a book somewhere. I'll post em up if I find them. I do find it interesting how even though they recommend that fairly thick convex shape I've seen factory grinds that are not only much flatter but much thinner than what they recommend there. I understand it's for warranty purposes so of course they recommend thicker!

There is a misconception among the general public, those who don't frequently use tools, that steel is indestructible. Even sharpening a kitchen knife seems an impossible task. They believe steel will maintain its current shape no matter what.

So it's easy to see why people are so quick to abuse an axe. They simply don't comprehend that they can damage it.
