hey i got an infraction a yesterday and was just wondering what exactly it was for, was it for going off topic? i scan thru some of them fairly quick and didnt notice even the post from mikeg (iirc?) about profanity/etc, but anyway was it for going off topic?

if so, not a prob, but i dont see were it was any diff than a 1000 others,

anyway, have been here a while and like to think of myself as not a trouble maker/etc so sorry if i did do that i didnt know it was considered an infraction.

like i say i didnt even read the one post i was talking on the phone and posting at the same time, will try to do better.

I jut looked in that thread, seems that off topic posts received a 1 point infraction each. No big deal, and they will expire.

thats what i figured, but when ya click on it it says "failure to follow forum specific rules" & i honestly wasnt sure, but i suppose thats it.

yeah no biggie but i just wanna know what the heck so i dont do it again lol.

When you chose to ignore a moderators clear and concise warning that is what can happen.

when you quote someone & it jumps you forward a page or so you might not see it..............i dont always go thru eevrything post by post.

i dont think anyone believes i purposely ignore stuff like that, if they do i wonder what they base that on, cause i have never given anyone reason to think that imho.

anyway no biggie, i honestly had never even heard about that rule, imho a fairly large % of threads do exactly that, wander off topic and go back on topic (sometimes anyway lol).

anyway merry x-mas to ya,

So if a mod posts a clear warning and it is ignored for whatever reason, by that logic we should do nothing. That type of situation really is not comparable to thread drift where there is no clear warning.

READ -> COMPREHEND -> POST. If you can't follow those instructions, you shouldn't be posting.
