I had read about the "chiclets" not being visable and how the mods can choose to warn with or without points, as well as making it public that an offending post has been addressed.

Where my question lies is in the public side of the warnings (infractions on the old system).

If a post had been dealt with, and a poster has been issued points or warned, wouldn't making it public likely make it so the post isn't reported multiple times, thus cutting down on the clutter on the Mod side of the screen?
I mean, if something has already been addressed, and three more people report it, mods may check on it, making their time spent redundant and arguably slightly wasted.

Can the infractions/warnings be made public or a notifier in the post somehow?

I know that the mods and staff as a whole are stretched rather thin. I would just like to see that they aren't taxed further on needless stuff.

Thanks.

I'll look into it

Alternatively, what about a way of showing that a post has already been reported?

Doesn't seem like that's an option, but multiple reports on the same post from various people get it noticed faster

I recently noticed that option where the moderator can publicize the warning/infraction. If it is a major thing, like selling in the discussion forums with no membership, language, etc I have made it publicly viewable that I intervened in that post. I like the idea because it shows what is and is not allowed to anyone reading the post.

Figured it out by doing it wrong.
My current protocol is the same as the Rev's.
Ditto to, "this is a recent learning."
