Have not posted in some time.

Been playing around with some old files and having fun. This one will be done again in some SS soon.

A large utility/fighter made from a Nicholson "Bastard" cut file, from the good old days when they made them in the USA.

The Hamon is not by any design, it occurred during heat treat. Adding some beauty to the used rough looking basterd file.

This design was inspired by a World War I book I have been reading that is part fiction part fact? When the "Bayonet" was as important as your "Rifle", part of the daily weapons maintence was putting a keen edge on.

I thought of calling it the "DoughBoy Delight"?

Inglorious "Bastard"
Approx.14" OAL 5 1/4" handle 8" blade with false edge
Textured GCM handle with multiple lanyard holes
Hand rubbed 800 grit acid etched
Not decided on the sheath, I may send out for leather.

Thanks
SAR

Sorry for the thread drift, I cant help it though. What is the Martini-Henry chambered in? Unertl scope with Lyman or Unertl external adjust? Very cool knife also.

Mike,

The MH is a W.W. Greener conversion and is chambered in 22 MAG, it has ENFIELD 1883 on the right side and on the Left it's stamped 1897. It's previous caliber was .303. I have a good picture of the rifle somewhere but cannot find it at the moment.

The scope is a early model Unertl 2" ultra varmit with Unertl standard target mounts.

Here is a another rifle same scope its 22 LR built on a original pre wwII Obendorf Mauser action very low serial number..lol

I also have a Martini Cadet in 22 LR

Spent some years shooting indoor competitions for the CANG fun stuff

We need a good picture of the Martini and the knife. It started life as a Martini-Henry MkIII Rifle or a MkI Artillery Carbine chambered in .577/.450 Martini-Henry, and was converted to a Martini-Enfield in .303 British in 1897. The Henry and Enfield after Martini refer to the type of rifling used in the barrel.
