I remember this being my father's hunting knife. Always assumed my Grandfather made it. Today my father gave it to me as a birthday present. Said his cousin Joel gave it to him back in the day. First thing I noticed was how sharp it was for an old knife my father used on many deer and elk. Then I noticed a stamp on the handle. FJR Clarkson NEB. Came home an looked it up... interesting bit of history. My father's side of the family is Nebraska farm folk. I believe his cousin is still alive. Will try to dig up as much of the story as they can remember. Thought some here might appreciate seeing it. The patina is really nice though hard to capture on film.

Thanks for looking. Happy Easter.

If you Google 'Frank Richtig Knives' there are many references to his work including very interesting references in Ripleys Believe It Or Not....

I own a few Richtig knives.

I agree with Dawkind that Google is a good source of info on his knives.

The best source for information on these knives is Sid Suedmeier (owner of Little Giant Power hammers).

He has been collecting these for years. I believe it's Knives '88. Sid has an article on Richtig.

He would be happy to hear another one has surfaced and share any information with you.
