Hello all,

I recently inherited a BUCK 110 from my 93 year old grandfather and was curious as to when he purchased it as he just told me it was soon after it was initially released. It is only stamped on the left hand side "BUCK U.S.A.", all the pins are brass and there are 3 brass pins holding the wood scales. I am not sure how to attach photos but with guidance I can add them to the post. Any help would be greatly appreciated to add some insight onto the history of this knife. Thank you in advance to anyone with more knowledge than I can scrape from the internet.

From 61-67, the blade should be imprinted with only with: "Buck."

From 67-72, the blade should be imprinted with: "Buck, USA."

From 72-86, the blade should be imprinted with: "Buck 110 USA."

However, it's also possible that if it's a 110 Folder from between 74-80, the blade could be imprinted with: "One dot on each side of model number."

My Buck 110 is imprinted: "Buck 110 USA" so should be from between 72-86. As I recall, I purchased it in the early 70's.

It is also possible to date a Buck 110 in other ways but that gets much more complicated.

See, for example: Buck Collector's Club: 1965-1986 -- The 110 Folding Hunter

There's no way to date it any better than that unless you've got a copy of the purchase receipt or something else to directly link it with a specific date.
No model 110 at all on the blade but A Arathol sent me in the right direction. Appears to be 1968-1970, thank you for the assistance though.

To confirm that, you should also take a look at the array of 21 Buck 110 blade "logo stamps" shown in the Buck Collector's Club link that I posted above. -

I had actually found that link in my search but the link provided by A Arathol had the small details I needed to look for on the models before they started adding model numbers and proof markings on the tang. Thank you for the help as well, it is nice to learn more about this iconic folder.
