Inherited old CRAFTSMAN USA fixed blade

In my dad's stuff I found and old, beat up 5" knife and sheath (beat up too). Is it worth restoring?

Since it was your Dad's knife, it would likely be worth some cleaning and a mild restoration. You don't want to remove the honest wear it received over the years, but you do want to remove any red rust that might be on it. Oil and steel wool will help with that.

Use a brass scraper to knock off any red rust or crud. Then oil and a rag. Then a new edge.
