I had never owned a folder by Cold Steel before so I decided to try the large voyager. The redesign of the voyager and of course the Tri-Ad lock intrigued me.Upon recieving it I looked it over very carefully and I was thoroughly impressed with the precise fit and finish of all components both inside and out.The Tri-Ad lock goes without saying was rock solid.Home run CS.

The Voyager and Holdout series are hands down my favorite Cold Steel folders. I think they offer not only the best value but are super tough and lightweight and offer larger size blades.

What's not to like.

Glad you like your Voyager. Definitely one of my favorites.

I have been quite pleased with the 2011 redesign of the Voyagers too.

Definitely one of my favorite lines of knives.

I have quite a few Cold Steel knives, my favorite is probably the Recon 1 XL Clip Point...

I just got the the Medium Voyager Tanto and it's a great EDC blade IMO and the price is right...

I'm kind of Voyager stupid. I have purchased 5 new and 2 old style Voyagers over the years. I'm still looking for plain edge VGs. I don't really know why I like this model so much.
I whipped out my XL at a family get together/fish fry and got a mixture of weird looks and laughter. It did a suprisingly good job cleaning and fileting ahalf dozen decent sized salt water fish. One thing I really liked was how easy it was to clean afterwards. I rinsed it with soapy water, shook it out and let it air dry open. No rust. The Aus 8 did need to be touched up afterwards.

I have a few of them - a 4" Vaquero Serrated, a 4" Vaquero Plain Edge, a 5.5" Vaquero Serrated and a 2007-2008 Vaquero Grande in VG-1 (That I scored for dirt cheap on craigslist of all places!)

The 4" Vaquero Voyager is as close to a perfect EDC as there is IMO. Fits my hand like a glove, great ergonomics, balance, grip and lightweight. Blade length and design are perfect. AUS-8 is good, but 440C would be better.

I love serrations. They are flat out nasty and sharp enough to push-cut newspaper.
I think I would rather be shot than sliced with a serrated knife. They don't slice flesh, they rip flesh.

I also love the Grande. Also serrated. Very light and it's so easy to inertia open it almost defies gravity.

You should see the looks I get when I flip it open! "Clack!" followed by "Holy $#!T!"

My Lady friend likes my 4" Ti-Lite and is always "borrowing" it from me.
She's getting one for Christmas.

The Ti-Lite is my "Date Night" knife as it is small, light and "very elegant" as my Lady friend says.
It's also very sharp as I have put in a lot of time making it much sharper than factory sharp.

I bought a Cold Steel Voyager XL clip blade about four months ago, and I absolutely love it. I can't get over how well it rides in my pocket and how versatile it is for such a large folder. I think the Voyager series offers a lot of knife for the money.

My first was a large Tanto. A bud saw it, liked it, so I gave it away. Now I have the clip and Tanto both in large and XL. The large clip gets the most carry\use.....Take the pocket clip off then grind the grip down a bit (beneath the clip engagement point) with a hand drill and a round grinding stone. It only takes a few seconds and stops your pockets from getting eaten. Like my Raja, I pretty much never use my XL's, but they are harmless fun to play with.
:D

Love my Voyager XL, but she will bite if not careful. I wasn't, and she did. Now I not only love her, but I give her great respect. She warrants it.

I bought a fully serrated large tanto Voyager when they first came out in the 90s. Decided the serrations weren't for me, and gave it to a friend. I then picked up two large clip points with plain edges, one for work and one to keep at home and clip on my sweats when jogging. When the XL came out, I said to myself, "I gotta get me some of that.". Again, I bought two: one for work and one for home. That was around 2005 I think, and both are still getting carried almost daily. I just picked up a new model XL PE tanto off the exchange last week, and I'm impressed with the changes. Definetly has a "beefier" feel to it than the old models.

Just bend the clip like I did but remove it from the handle first so you don't stress the screws/threads.

Glad to hear you dig it. I've an XL clip Voyager on the way. Excited to have a big ol' folder in my carry rotation. Even without it in my hand, I have a growing feeling of needing the other sizes of the clip blade Voyager...

I have an original Voyager and dislike the pants killing design of the later ones.....I wish CS would do a smooth area below the clip contact in order to prevent this.
