First thing I want to say is that if this is a lady finger it must be from quite a big lady :p

Anyways, I ordered "Lady" in september and it finally came today. Ive been excited about this knife for quite some time. Funny, I havent bought a knife for over a month and have had over 6 knives roll in from past orders these last couple weeks  Back on topic heh

1) Lady is not a small knife as that may be received from the name Andy gave this knife. I have medium to large hands and find it to be very comfortable (hand shot in the pics below. The handle swells at the widest part of the handle making it fill the hand nicely. Ive noticed that recent orders have not had the little guard on their knives. Personally, I find it non intrusive and quite attractive. I havent had a chance to use her in the field yet, but will make a full review in a few weeks.

2) Fit and finish: Very good. I am fairly anal when it comes to fit and finish. A 10 would mean perfect in everyway. Id give this guy an 8. By my standards this is quite good. The only flaws I found is the primary and secondary grind was not quite symmetrical. It is in by no means horrible, but not perfect. I think most people would be more than satisfied. The handle is just amazing as many have stated about Andy's work. The edge is an absolute razor, and easily shaves hair. The edge is convex with a secondary bevel. I expect custom knives to come razor sharp even though I have no problems sharpening a blade

3) The spine of the knife is quite sharp, yet very comfortable in the hand (doesnt cut the thumb). I expect it will throw a great spark on a ferro rod. It should also be good at scraping.

4) The sheath: this is one that Tal (diomedes industries) on this forum made up for me. I can easily say this is the most beautiful sheath I have ever handled. Fit and finish is fantastic. It also holds the knife firmly but is easy to pull out with the lanyard I placed on the knife. I got the sheath with the detachable dangler which I most likely wont use, but wanted to have it just in case. Great work Tal. Id give this a 10/10. Tal was a great guy to work with as I am sure many of you know, so next time you need a sheath, maybe give Tal a look :p

This is my first custom fixed blade, so it is quite special to me. I expect me and Lady will have many good adventures together. I will post a more thorough review in a few weeks when I put her through the paces.

Great Work Andy and Tal :thumbup:

Now for a few crappy pics I shot real quick :)

Man, she's a beauty!
If I ever order a custom blade, it will surely be a lady finger, sans the guard.

You have a special knife there - easily my most favorite wood combo's to come from Andy.

I am so happy that my coloring came out to match your Paduk.

It is a real testament to Andy's knife that it comes shaving sharp. I wet form my sheaths - so your knife sat, wet formed, under tape, getting damp, for a day.

I take the tape off and clean it up - but my clean up can cause the blade to dull some, so can the wet forming. The fact that it STILL shaved says he had a REALLY sharp knife to begin with.

Nice!! I'm glad you got it, and Tal really outdid himself on that sheath. Very nice review too! Thank you!

A full review will come in the weeks ahead. I used the knife for a good hour today on a carving project. She bites in real good and I am gonna go sharpen her up after posting on the boards:)

BEAUTIFUL!!!! Absolutely gorgeous!

To the point I would think about leaving it as a cabinet queen .
