Picked this up at a good price on the exchange. This is my first "high end" knife, and for a while I'd been debating between this and a small sebenza.

Package came yesterday, and having never handled one, I wasn't sure what to expect. Whipped out my little spydie dragonfly, and in no time the sng was in my hands.

First thought: WTF did I do, this is one of the ugliest knives I've ever seen.

Within the first hour of ownership I was ready to sell it. Detent was too strong IMO, ugly, not pleasurable to open and close.

HOWEVER, after opening and closing it for a few hours while watching the bears packers game (Go bears LOL) the knife started to grow on me. If fit my hand perfectly. The detent is still a bit too strong for my liking, but I'm hoping that will loosen up over time. I'm carrying it today, and so far it is serving me well.

Definitely function > form, I plan to keep. Will update this in a week or so.

Function + form for me :) I love striders, such a nice knife. I have 2 SMF's inbound LOL
 
What is the steel? Strider does a good job with all of the steels they use. I was very impressed with Z-wear. So far the PD1 micromelt is equally impressive.

It'll keep growing on you, I have a hard time deciding between carrying an SNG or a seb 25 because they're both so fantastic. You got a great model too mate, my dream is a CC SMG with all stonewashed ti and blade in CPM-154
 
I'm really loving it now. Detent has started to loosen a little.
 
Did you try a single drop of lube in the detent hole? This often helps most any new knife I get in that isn't opening as smoothly as I'd hoped.
Enjoy your knife (use it), its a keeper!
