Well... Today is the worst injury so far i got after throwing knives for a year and it got me wondering what other injuries you guys have from knife throwing like glance backs etc etc....

Today, I got a 1 inch long cut on my left ring finger while pulling out a blade from the wood. At that time i used my right hand to rip it out of the wood with my left hand in close proximity to hold the blade after its removed from the wood. Then after using some force to pull it out, the tip of the knife slides across my left ring finger.

Frankly, i didn't expect the tip to be able to give me a cut like that. (maybe its my 1st) But don't worry about me, its a shallow cut:D but i cut short my knife throwing session cuz i find that while throwing my knife with my left hand, I didn't grip it well anymore (the wound it irritating):grumpy:

I am sure u guys got much worst injuries than i have so share your deadly encounters here :D

OWCH ! L:O:L

Do vertical throws count ? My brother dropped a three foot pair of pruning sheers into (not onto) the top of my foot . They only penetrated about half an inch but stood up by themselves in my foot .

Does it have to be a knife thats thrown ? My Ex broke my heart when she threw it in the gutter . :L:O:L

Ouchies! Now thats gana hurt.

LoL. You ex is an anti-bladist :D

I ever tried juggling with my throwing knives before (more like flipping it in the air one by one) and one landed point 1st into the palm of my hand. And i remembered that soft sound of it sticking in my palm. Its like the sound you get when sticking it in a extremely damp wood. I got a cramp in that hand for a few days (proberly hit a muscle?)

I had a cheapie bounce off the target, flip around and stick into my shin.

I thoght nothing of it, slapped a bandaid on it, and away I go.

then the inside of my boot got wet.

I should of gotten stitches but I just butterflyed it, then wrapped it up and called it good.

You're the man! hope your wound heals up well.... I remembered when i just started doing an underhand throw, the knife bounced stight up from the target. I didn't know why i did what i did but i just ducked and covered my head with my hands. The next thing i know, the knife struck

well..... the tip sticked into the ground a few inches right of my right foot!

If you guys watched enough "Final Destination" , what if a wind blew it a bit to the left, and what if its not rotating in the air and the tip is pointing down all the time:eek:

I've had a close call that I posted about a while ago, in which a knife bounced back toward my face, but caught it in my hand without any injury. Looked cool, and took credit for it.

I haven't had any throwing injuries, per se--a few damaged items around the house when the knife punched through my target and dinged the wall behind it, or when a bounce back punctured through a paint can safely off to the side. I found my knife on the basement floor a second later, and noticed a weird white mark on the blade. When I rubbed the mark with my thumb--thinking it was just dust--I discovered it was a thick white liquid. That's when I noticed the trickle oozing out of my paint can on the shelf three feet to the left of the target.

you better get better lighting down in da basement there.. Yup i recalled you mentioning the knife that nearly sticked to your face

Thanks--two different stories, really!

The knife "almost sticking into the face" happened in 1986 at the workplace.

The knife nicking the paint can in my basement was 2005.

But I see you're keeping a detailed dossier on my knife throwing experiences, and I appreciate that.

well, its hard to forget a knife nearly stickin in the face experience... and its unique so its almost unforgettable

No injuries, but worst close call was at a primitive rendezvous at the knife and hawk target. The club had just put up a nice new, smooth, section of elm, and my frontier knife hit wrong, bounced back at me, and I (luckily) caught it with a hand on each side of the blade, an inch from my belt buckle, point first. I spent the rest of the afternoon drinking and telling lies with some of my friends.

woah... almost the same as watchful but lower and closer to little brother there. It could had been nasty if you didn't catch it:D

I don't think i can ever catch a knife with both hands.

I'm sure Arioch and I would agree... yet, we did. There's no "think" about it, of course--had we been thinking, we would have just stepped out of the way!

one of my girlfriends friends borrowed one of my throwing knives ,and lost it down the park . the park is a few meters aways from a primary school , so i`m now worried that some kid is now running around with a thrower . its relevent because that kid could do all sorts of injuries to himself or someone/something else

Ode To A throwing Knife

I threw my knife straight up in the air .

Where it lands I do not care .

Oh , ouch , son of a B .

I didn,t think it would land on me .

Atomsphere i tried mate but no luck . it was lost at night , and the next day was a school day.

Sirgalant more people are injured in their own homes by their own kitchen knives than almost any other accident .

If that kid was going to hurt himself he has ample opportunties without your blade being a factor . Too bad you lost it . I wouldn,t concern myself with who finds it though .
