Inkosi blade centering

I recently purchased an Inkosi tanto and I love the knife, but I’m struggling with the deployment. I have owned over 500 knives and never had a problem with deployment. In order to center the blade it requires a certain tightening of the pivot screw but it makes impossible to deploy comfortably. Please help. I love this knife.

When I know i'm close I adjust the pivot very slowly like maybe 1/8 of a turn.

I have two and both are butter smooth and by far the most rock solid folder I've ever had. These knives aren't flickers just a smooth slow roll open.

Is this your first inkosi, and have you had a sebenza? If not, just enjoy the ride. The knife will break you in.
It’s my first. I’ve wanted one for so long and especially the rare earth. I am not getting rid of it, just want it more desirable to carry.

Then you're good to go. Nothing wrong with the knife. You just need time with it. It might take a week or two, and then it will click for you. Guaranteed.

As the others have said. Keep it centered and break it in. Mine is as smooth as any knife I’ve ever owned.
I recommend a couple weeks of carry followed by a tear down clean and lube. Bobs your uncle.

Something sounds off. you should be able to remove the pivot screw and work the blade without it being off center. I’ve done it on mine. The Inkosi/Umnumzaan/25 have adjustable pivot tension. You should be able to adjust the pivot to make it enjoyable to use.
Maybe I’m not understanding what off center means to you. Does the blade rub if it’s not cranked down so tight ? Have you taken it apart to examine the washers to make sure there’s no defects? Does it have too much grease/ not enough, even though some people have run them dry.
Is it a large or small Inkosi ?

I own and have owned a lot of CRKs. Enough that I know what an inkosi action should be like. Most of them are great and break in with use. However, I used to have one that was so tight when centered that it was not a one hand opening knife. I struggled with it for a year before sending it back to Boise. They fixed it. I assure you I have quite normal hands that open and close knives as a matter of course.

The next inkosi I had was actually flickable after a couple of weeks. They are not all the same.
